LimNexus LLP, an award winning, business law firm is seeking an international trade law associate for its Washington D.C. office. The position does not require a physical presence in the D.C. office; the candidate can be located anywhere in the Eastern Time Zone, utilizing technology for remote work environment. The position can also be part-time or other flexible arrangements can be made for the right candidate. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia or be eligible to waive in, and have graduated from an ABA accredited law school. This position requires knowledge and experience with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. sanctions regulations (OFAC); CFIUS; UN sanctions; International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR); U.S. customs regulations, general corporate law, corporate compliance, internal investigations, etc. Experience directly dealing with USTR, U.S. Dept. of Commerce, U.S. Treasury Department, or the U.S. State Department is a plus. Some corporate or business transactions law experience preferred. A minimum of 4 – 6 years of relevant experience required. There is a strong preference for candidates with proven business development acumen, presentation skills, and intercultural communication abilities. Foreign language abilities (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, German, Russian or Arabic) and international experience is also a plus.
