Representing a large garment manufacturing client, the Lim Ruger team of Bryan Sheldon and Richard Ruger defeated a $13.8 million shareholder dispute/breach of fiduciary duty claim brought by the corporation’s former vice president and obtained a $1.5 million verdict against the former vice president on the client’s cross-complaint for breach of fiduciary duty and interference with contract. The four week jury trial in Los Angeles Superior Court was handled by Bryan Sheldon. The jury, which returned its verdict on April 18, also found that the former vice president had acted with malice, but declined to award additional punitive damages.
