Our lawyers are community leaders. We serve on numerous civic and non-profit boards, provide pro bono services, speak at legal and business seminars, and lead bar associations. Nine of LimNexus lawyers have led the way through their personal leadership as presidents, board members and committee chairs with national and local bar associations (ethnic and non-ethnic), legal organizations and/or community-based organizations that promote diversity initiatives. Examples of positions held by LimNexus lawyers currently or in the past include Chair of the Board for the Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Los Angeles (formerly known as Asian Pacific American Legal Center), Board member of the Western Justice Center, President of the Korean American Bar Association, Board member of the Asian American Justice Center, Board member of the Neighborhood Legal Services, Chair of the Board for the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center and Vice Chair of the Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment.
With the view that a more diverse bar will lead to a more just and equitable society, the LimNexus Foundation was established by the partners of LimNexus to assist the legal education of minority students. The LimNexus Foundation works through several bar associations to grant scholarships to law students of many ethnicities and minority communities.
Unparalleled by a firm of our size, since 2006 the LimNexus Foundation has given over $217,000 in scholarships to over 95 diverse law students in partnership with the organizations below:
